Yano Ryokan (Tuna Dish)

Yano Ryokan is in Matsumae Town, located at the southernmost tip of Hokkaido. Matsumae Town, with a historical cityscape centered around Matsumae Castle, is known for being the most famous cherry blossom viewing location in Hokkaido. It boasts the longest history among the inns in Matsumae Town, founded in 1951. It welcomes guests with dishes using local ingredients, including its specialty tuna, Matsumae nori seaweed, and a natural hot spring.

Dressing in Japanese Armor

Visit the Matsumae Clan mansion, and see what the streets of Japan looked like during the Edo Period. Dress up in authentic traditional Japanese clothing and armor. From samurai generals to town girls, there are plenty of costumes for the whole family to choose from and have fun! As a token for your travels, you can have your picture taken while dressed in costumes, and have the images made into badges. Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility, so you can walk around in your costumes, take pictures and upload them to Twitter, Facebook and other SNS sites.
